Scenario Flex 4.80 - Student Information

Training will be held in the training room at the SystemWare East Coast Regional Office (ECRO). If you plan to ship gear in advance, please ensure it arrives at the ECRO three business days before training.

Software

In order to fully benefit from all training modules, each ScenarioFlex system should have the following software installed:

1. ScenarioFlex version 4.80. If you don’t have this version please contact the training POC ASAP to ensure delivery.
2. Microsoft Office. Report creation will be taught and this module requires at least MS Word for full student participation.
3. Windows XP Pro. Remote control functions will be taught and this module requires Windows XP Pro for full student participation. If your system does not have Windows XP Pro installed, please do one of the following:
   1. Have your IT department upgrade your operating system prior to training.
   2. Contact the Training POC to arrange to have the system controller sent to SystemWare for upgrade before training.
      1. If this option is selected, all data MUST be removed or backed up prior to shipping to SWI. The OS upgrade process requires the hard drive be formatted, resulting in complete data loss.
      2. All required software disks must accompany the system for re-installation, i.e. MS Office, ScenarioFlex, other software required by your organization.
   3. Contact the Training POC to arrange for a copy of Windows XP Pro to be available at training.
      1. If this option is selected, the user must be prepared to back up all data prior to upgrading the OS. The OS upgrade process requires the hard drive be formatted resulting in complete data loss.
      2. All required software disks must be brought to training for re-installation, i.e. MS Office, ScenarioFlex, other software required by your organization.

Equipment

Each student or student pair is required to bring a SystemWare RF system to training. The minimum equipment requirements are listed below.

An Ambassador Travel Case requires:

• The Ambassador Travel Case
• Laptop computer w/mouse and power supply
• Dongle (hardware key)
• ScenarioFlex 4.80 software and driver disks
• Magma PCI Card
• RS232 cable
• Power cord
• Antenna (preferably a tuna can) with cable

A Triple Slice system requires:

• Laptop computer w/mouse and power supply
• Dongle (hardware key)
• ScenarioFlex 4.80 software and driver disks
• Magma Triple Slice with boards
• PCI Bridge cable and Magma PCI Card
• SI-8614 Nanoceptor (with Frequency Extender if applicable)
• Pigtail (DB15 cable with BNC connections and an audio jack)
• 2 Gray DRS bundled cables (1 has power and RS232 and 1 has Sync In and Sync Out BNC connections)
• 1 N Type to SMA cable for RF In
• 3 SMA to SMB cables for IF, Video and Trigger
• 1 SMB to BNC for Sync
• Power supply for SI-8614
• Power supply for Triple Slice
• Antenna (preferably a tuna can) with cable
• Power cords

A Toaster II system w/FSU requires:

• Toaster II w/ keyboard, mouse, and pigtail (should already be attached to back of Toaster II)
• LCD Flat Panel
• Dongle (hardware key)
• ScenarioFlex 4.80 software and driver disks
• FSU
• GPIB Cable
• 3 BNC cables (IF, Video Out and Sweep Start)
• FSU Aux Cable (This came with the FSU and has a DB9 connector on one end and 3 BNC connectors on the other)
• Power cords
• Antenna (preferably a tuna can) with cable

Note: If you have a Rohde & Schwarz FSH or Avenger you want to configure as a handoff device, please bring it to training.

An FSH includes:

• FSH w/ power supply
• Whip antenna
• Power supply
• FSH driver disk
• Optical-Serial cable w/USB-Serial converter, or Optical-USB cable
